Volunteer Leadership Team - Kids Camp

What does being a leader at Forest Lakes Christian Kids Camp mean? 
Each school holidays Forest Lakes runs a five-day overnight Camp. Leaders arrive on Sunday night for Leader training, team building and camp preparation. The campers arrive at 3:30pm on Monday. Campers leave at 1pm on the Friday after Lunch and Leaders finish around 3:30pm on Friday. 
The camp is divided into cabins. Each cabin will have up to nine campers, two leaders and a LIT (leader In training). New leaders are paired with experienced leaders. These cabins stay together for activities, meals, sharing shed, devotions, duties, and games. Leaders are responsible for looking after their cabin for the duration of camp. 

Each camp has a structure and theme to enhance the great fun and activities running throughout the week. Past themes include Jungle, Pirate, and Wild West.
Leading at Forest Lakes introduces you to a team of like-minded caring Christians who will support you throughout the week, You will develop friendships with other leaders, LITS and your campers. This experience helps grow your faith and gospel-sharing skills. You get to participate in activities alongside your campers such as Go-Karts, Archery, Swimming and more. Other activities will require you to lead/assist an instructor. Each holiday kids camp is full of laughs, smiles, funny stories and amazing experiences that will stay with you for life. 

To join our leader team at Forest Lakes; 
  • Leaders must be 15+ years old
  • Leaders in Training must be 13+ years old (with a one camp break from attending as a camper)
  • Both must be committed Christians who regularly attend church/youth group

Autumn Camp 2026 
Autumn Camp runs from 5:00pm Monday 6th to 3:30pm Saturday 11th of April 2026 for our Leadership Team. Please note Monday 6th is a public holiday. We will provide dinner on the Monday night and all meals in between.

We are running a Leaders Weekend for teenagers 13yrs+ from 5:00pm Friday 22nd to 3:30pm Sunday 24th of May 2026.
